NinjaMaster231456 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Everything feels more concrete. Warframe's lore is really interesting in its own right but everything feels kinda floaty. Not a lot is really explained to us directly and we don't get a lot of info on certain events. The syndicates for example, they've been around for like 8 years at this point and they've been involved in various important events but we don't really know much about them save for their general vibes. The only one we even know the origin of is the Red Veil. We can guess based on the Cressa Tal and Sargas Ruk's beef and the Orbiter Radio mentioning a rebellion on Saturn that they probably have their origins on Saturn but not a lot is confirmed. For contrast let's look at the Knightmaidens of Dendria. They had their stard in the year 717 when the Fonnish army laid siege to Fort Curlail. The men had made one last stand against the invaders under the leadership of the Medicant King. The Women then took up the arms and armor of the men and defended their fort from the invaders and has it been ever since. I feel this reflects on the themes of the 2 games. One of the central ideas of Soulframe is the reclamation of history against Invaders that would see it erased. While not explicitly stated, Warframe has this idea that the Origin System has been in conflict for so long that the individual battles and minutae of conflict cease to matter anymore. 2
Keysharpe Posted November 19 Posted November 19 I definitely think that's one element Digital Extremes are going to shoot for with Soulframe; a much more story focused experience. A question I've had since seeing the timeline is if it is going to have any gravity on present events in the game. An example would be the Sentients in the Plains of Eidolon from Warframe. Even though their war was over long ago, they still played a role in the gameplay through Eidolon hunting, and the story of Gara's sacrifice, with her becoming a playable Warframe. I think Digital Extremes will find a narrative way to bring them from the past to the present, given the heavy emphasis on your ancestors and their fables.
