[DE]Sarah Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Envoys! As the team continues to work away on our next Update, we’ve made the decision to hold back the Mote system from Preludes 10. While shown in recent Devstreams, the system needs more time to grow into what we envision and will arrive in a future Update. That said, Preludes 10 still brings much to explore. Delve into the haunted Festival of the Circade, face the corrupted Mendicant King, and encounter strange new foes like Will-o-wings. Wield your first Sidearms (Skílter, Nettle, Virdigris) and the witching-staff Gwylen, shaped by time and tender hands. Leave messages at World Trees, swap between custom Loadouts, and take up Armour newly imbued with defensive stats. Expanded Faction Tales bring fresh challenges, deeper paths, and hidden rewards across Alca - and much more beyond. The wind carries much yet unseen. Stay tuned, Envoys. 25 1

Are the Preludes 10 also being postponed indefinitely? Since the promised two weeks have already passed. Edited May 22 by DRAKQN
Jnuh Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Mote system being pushed back, again, is disappointing. As it's been like one of the main features you have been pushing for p10 in devstreams and devshorts. Seems like each release is being pushed, with very little content being put in. This, along with discord being a mess, is quickly losing interest in even "testing" anymore.
WatermelonFruit Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Man that really hurts to the core that was one of the things I was most hyped for P10. Hope u guys really make it for P11 at the least because not a lot of tools right now to make weapons to our own playstyle. Also Can we have a way to get the other motes we missed out on since the current new mote system is still being developed? I am stuck with 2 weapon buff to be put on my weapons
Excalibur_Arthur Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Do the words alpha stage mean nothing to anyone? The game is still early in development, so there's bound to be the occasional hiccup. Be patient and enjoy the new content that is going to be in the next update. Do you want a quality game with little to no bugs upon release, or do you want something that feels rushed and plays like garbage? 26
Cophee Posted May 23 Posted May 23 I agree with Excalibur_Arthur on this. Better to have updates that adds a little something here and there then pushed content that doesnt work as intended. It is in development so I just play other games until its time to return to Soulframe :) Discord is a mess, on that agree - but that's more of a discord thing imho. You cant really do a structured forum in discord so the pinned billboard like thing Discord has, doesnt really work well with hundreds of posts on each topic. Then again, I'm a 53 year old gamer veteran so maybe I just have more patience with things like this then younger players I love Soulframe and still hop on every so often even though I dont really have anything to do except working my Silent Rose until I get it to rank 5. After that, I will work on the next Enclave, and the next one. 9

Do you want a quality game with little to no bugs upon release, or do you want something that feels rushed and plays like garbage? Totally agreed. The team has been nothing if not totally frank about how this is a game in "Pre-pre-pre-alpha" and these updates are new, or newly polished systems. We are lucky to be taking part in the play-testing of a product in development and should not expect any particular build to be a finished product until the product is actually finished. Have a nice day. 8
HappyLittleTree Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Sounds good, would rather wait for things to get right and ready then not. New content is still exciting, and some expanded tales will make this grind a bit more interesting. 1
Freiherr Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Thank you! Please don't ship anything that isn't ready! Also, it would be nice to get some idea when P10 is gonna release. I don't want to start playing some game that will take me 200 hours to beat if P10 is arriving next week. But I also don't want to put all my games on hold if we won't see it until July or something. 2
Lil_Vixon Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I am sure that whatever Preludes 10 brings, at this time, it will just continue to build on the amazing work and the playability that those of us, enjoying this journey will be glad to see. We are lucky to be playing any part of this game. Many other development companies don't even consider giving access to unpaid testers. So, be grateful for this opportunity & enjoy the new content and updates as they are released for testing.
Ryuuou Posted May 27 Posted May 27 A bit cautious about attaching gameplay-influencing stats to aesthetics, so I'm interested to see how it's handled

Stay tuned, Envoys. full inventory: how to solve the issue of full inventory, when i have assembled 2 pacts (ode tempest). when i have assembled tethren at the time of withdrawal it tells me insufficient space in the inventory, i ask how to solve or increase the inventory or to eliminate a PACT, thanks
SempraSupra Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) I am also faced with the dilemma of insufficient inventory space. I need to level my final weapon, but it cannot be claimed and equipped. I'm concerned that if I sell of one of my other weapons, that this may not solve the issue, although it should. Besides, if I do sell something off, it will need to be reforged and releveled. Can DE either add more inventory space, or allow us to earn it as in Warframe? Edited June 20 by SempraSupra

Note: Current Envoys will receive 50 premium currency directly into their account as we test this.
Sqwipes Posted June 20 Posted June 20 The Gwylen witching-staff is still not dropping on Alcas children faction, or atleast from my own testing it has not dropped at all.
SpeeduWagunTTV Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Hey are there any plans on Improving the Combat System? It feels very very very Janky even in the newer Preludes. I know I may have a high bar as a From Soft enthusiast. But wasn't the whole Point of Souls frame do Differentiate itself in game play as a MMO for Souls Combat? Like last time I played (prelude 9) there where a Lot of Cases where my block did a sound for blocking a Normal attack but I still took full damage. Or that I completely slash through an Enemy and the hit doesn't register. I think combat is currently the second weakest Aspect of the game. The only thing that is worse is that you have no proper way to know what drops what material so that you can actually build gear once you got the Shards for completed.
Darvahoya Posted June 25 Posted June 25 As a developer I'm absolutely aligned with your release approach. It's typically much harder to unwind a mistake while keeping players happy than disappointing them with a delay.
Darvahoya Posted June 25 Posted June 25 A quick tip for the battle mechanics is to go back and run the tutorial fights in Sekiro which is a more similar FromSoft game than Elden Ring or the Dark Souls series. After all, Wolf is the guy with the prosthetic arm although his is on the left...
