MomBon Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Hey all! I'm really loving Soulframe and the Preludes 7 update, your work is amazing! I have two questions 1) Will there be an enemy targeting lock system in the future? 2) Will there be an easier way to see your teammates in-game without needing to look at the map? FriedRoadKill Posted November 14 Posted November 14 You've mentioned in the past that movement would include actions such as mantling to scramble around and climb. What about passive modes of movement like zip-lines or some contextual device to glide back down from high places especially now that we can't float with Dhonu anymore? And I'm never going to stop asking this: From the Preludes discord, the most pressing question of all: We have affectionately named the statue outside of Kearnholm, "Grogglenax the Chaste", despite how magnificent the beast is. Is there scope for an in-joke or two from the community side before release? Quote
Tamasagi Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I might have several questions; Will there be the option of color-picking yourself with Verminia in the near future? What is planned regarding travelling long distances besides the big wolf? Bird-form but without the death would be nice. Is there going to be more weapon archetypes in the future? Love the game so far even if I'm a bit late thanks to my Soulframe invite getting deleted by my spam folder months ago. <3 Quote
Howl Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Once character creation is implemented will we be able to change our characters, including body type, skin color, etc... at will like in Warframe? Are there any plans for having different fashion/character loadouts? 2 Quote
Pellah Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Will there be an over-arching narrative like Warframe? or will there be only non-linear story quests like the Fables we already got in the game? and why? Edited November 14 by Pellah 3 Quote
Guest RubbishBunny Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Heya! Been enjoying Preludes 7 a lot recently, I was wondering if there were any plans to add an unarmed combat arts, unarmed combat is always very enjoyable to me. Keep up the good work! Quote
Guest Faber Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Any long term plans when it comes to difficulty and level scaling? This is something Warframe has seemingly "struggled" with , which lead to more and more power creep and difficulty creating any challange for high level players, while also making a lot of the core content (relic missions, sorties, arbitrations and so on) a complete cake walk, taking all the challange away. Soulframe seems like a game that will need more enganging/challenging gameplay as it doesnt serve the same over the top power fantasy with fast movement that warframe does. I know the goal isnt souls-like levels of difficulty, but there is a lot of room between no challange at all and souls-like levels of difficulty. Quote
Guest CaptainKidd Posted November 14 Posted November 14 How do you plan on further implementing drainage objectives and incentives into the overworld? You've already taken steps to incentivise players to return to previously visited locations, but how have you toyed with the idea of including small buffs to reward 'completing' overworked objectives (increased parry window, movespeed, ability regen etc.) ala Duviri? Obviously these wouldn't be permanent persistent buffs, but could definitely serve to support the idea of contributing to the 'resistance' to help radiant overworkd objectives feel more present from a gamepkay perspective. Guest Kahl Prime Posted November 14 Posted November 14 You've said before there would be many different melee weapon categories, and you've already added a long range weapon with the bow. Are their any plans to add something similar to the grimiores in Warframe, or alternatively abwizard staff that could act as a long range AOE/crowd control weapon? On there any chance of ode technology/soul magic resulting in a rocket/gravity hammer to bring my beloved jat kitaag into soul frame? Thanks for all your hard work and I look forward to everything you create even if these fantasies of mine don't come true! Quote
Faber Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Any long term plans regarding balancing and level scaling? I know the core idea is that the game is not too difficult, but i think the power fantasy we have in warframe wont make for engaing gameplay with this type of slower paced combat. How will you handle level scaling and difficulty in a way that allows both casual and hardcore players to engage in the same gameplay loop without it being to hard for the casual or too easy and unengaging for the hard core players. Relic missions in warframe come to mind as something even MR30 + players still engage with, but so easy for the that its almost impossible to even die with a normal build such a player would have. In Warframe the base movement is engaging and fast enough that this isnt too big of an issue, Soulframe doesnt seem to have that luxury. Quote
Xsoskeleton Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I have several questions, would be happy enough if any of my questions is mentioned. 1. Seeing that several of weapons available in Preludes 7 is also used by enemies, will we have a new class consisting of heavy weapons as seen used by the heavies/Banneret styled enemies? 2. Despite having a shield, shield class seems to be focused more on throwing with the perfect throw window combat arts tree and also lacking parry window upgrades, is it intended or will you look more into it? 3. Are there possibilities for the virtue scaling to be adjusted/changed further to comply with more balanced virtue setup? e.g. making each virtue gives attack number but only the main one has the biggest multiplier, as with the starter weapons and pacts available you are practically punished if picking Sollos-I sword in P7, and maxing out a single virtue is the most viable way to get biggest weapon damage rather than adding points in regard of pact ability performance. 4. Will you start improving on Fables / expanding the world after the core mechanic with pacts, weapons, etc is more solidified? Or will you tackle everything as you go or whichever ready to be presented upon? 5. Preludes / Pre-pre-pre-alpha topic: What is the main reason/criteria for doing account progress reset? Quote
Nemesis. Posted November 14 Posted November 14 It seems like prelude will continue to be ongoing for a bit longer, I'm really enjoying the game, so my question is: Is there any talks of progress or even a little progress carry over to the open/full release? (I know this question has been slightly talked about, just looking for further details) I understand that some resets may happen throughout the prelude however with the addition to the Blacksmith being in the game and having to wait real time for some of the weapons/armor it feels damaging putting in time and effort for it to all go away. It would be helpful throughout the prelude up until full release for there not to be any real time waiting. Maybe even shorter times, again just throughout the prelude. I haven't read much into, but I know in the past there were some troubles when releasing Warframe about early access players and first time players, so I understand the difficulty in appeasing everyone. The friends I've brought on via Friend Codes are turned off on the idea of playing after knowing the progress wouldn't (maybe) carry over. 2 Quote
Keysharpe Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Are there any plans to include NPC factions in the future, like the Ostrons or Solaris from Warframe? Getting to integrate yourself with the customs and cultures of those factions was so much fun. To this day I'll still say "Swazdo-lah, Surah" when I meet a fellow Tenno. 2 Quote
Arkheion Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Hello ! We want to Know when others language game will be release in the game ? Because it's very difficult for no-english speaker to well understand everything. Thanks for the Answer ! Soulframe is the best game ! 2 Quote
Guest Sarbe Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I have one question, it is very important. Have you ever the thing but you and then it but now you the? Quote
Guest Taxikayo Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Helloooo I have a question about "accessibility" options. Especially for the bird that we have to follow which is small and difficult to see with the greenery. So could we have an option to have an enlarged icon at the So could we have an option to have an enlarged icon instead? So could we have an option to have an enlarged icon instead of the bird to better follow it and see it like in duviri paradox on warframe. Quote
Cloudkracker Posted November 14 Posted November 14 1. In addition to the mounts will we ever get other modes of transport, like catapults that can launch us skywards or an Ode'n glider that lets us glide down safely. 2. Will we ever get a heavy weapon class, like clubs or greatswords? 3. What are Verminia's elixirs going to be used for? Will the act like consumables? 4. Would adding Exotic Armor (similar to Destiny 2) be a good idea? Having pieces of armor that add unique perks and/or change that nature of Pack abilities. 1 Quote
Cloudkracker Posted November 14 Posted November 14 In addition to the Sproutfolk and Fey, do you have any ideas for future fantasy races/factions? Perhaps talking trees or stone golems? 2 Quote
DoomIsAGuy Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I have a question. Will there be a message system like Dark Souls where people can put messages around the open world? Quote
PEPIYEA Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Are there any plans to make in game clans or factions similar to clans in Warframe? 3 Quote
zshift Posted November 14 Posted November 14 What are the future goals for pacing vs difficulty? Right now, difficulty seems to align with Warframe, in that dying is pretty hard for the player, but the open world design feels very similar to Dark Souls, with sparse groups of a few enemies. What makes Dark Souls interesting to me is the difficulty and unique approaches you have to take to learn the enemies and defeat them, but Soulframe doesn’t have that challenge after the first couple of enemies, so it feels a bit hollow. I’ve enjoyed fighting the respawning enemies and figuring out their gimmick, though. Would love to see more new and unique-to-soulframe ways to defeat new enemy types. 1 Quote
ABlindGuyPlays Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Questions: Will there be any chance at an 'unarmed' progression? IE your kick, or when you're brawling after you've thrown your weapon. I'm mostly talking grapples on the order of arkham's series or, for those of us that are from the 90's, the streets of rage games. Is there any chance at speeding up the movement speed by default in the nightfold? It is ... distractingly sluggish without pressing the bird button. Is there a way to have game settings avalible from the title screen? My computer is on the lower spec end of things and the opening cutscenes and intro were a slideshow because i couldn't set everything before gameplay start. 3 Quote
Domzor Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Hello [DE]vs, Loving the game so far, even with the little content it has the gameplay loop feels fun and fairly engaging. My question is if the bosses in the game are going to be more varied in their mechanics, than in warframe. Even though I love warframe, the bosses are definitely one of the weakest parts of the game, mainly due to the insane damage that the player cam do, inhibiting any meaningful mechanics being made and I don't want this game to go down the same route. Also would a big/colossal boss, like something from shadow of the colossus be possible with your current engine, if so I'd love for such a boss to be added. 2 Quote
Aifrie Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Hello! I've got a few questions, if that's okay. 1) From what I was able to gather, Soulframe is heavily focused on the roleplaying aspect, which is something I adore and would love to see in more games. But certain roleplaying aspects seem to actively harm the game's core progression loop of gathering resources and crafting new equipment. Is Soulframe intended to be a game built around roleplaying at its core, or are there plans to find balance between artistic roleplaying and its core gameplay loop? 2) Is there a possibility of non-avian familiars being added into the game at some point? I know that there are plans to add other smallish birds besides the sparrow, but is there a possibility of Soulframe having bats as familiars? 3) Will there be overarching narrative arcs, like Warframe's War Within and New War sagas? Or are the stories going to be limited to different Fables? 2 Quote
