An Envoy's Classification Conundrum

I'm not one for fancy footwork or perfecting the parry. I absolutely love that I have the freedom to run around and hurl my sword at anything and everything. Coming from titles where melee takes a backseat to range weaponry, I'm used to fighting at a distance. However many questions have been scratching at the back of my mind as of late. If I only throw the sword, does that make me a swordsman or a ranged attacker? Is it still considered melee combat? If I throw the sword at a target within arms reach, is it a melee attack, or a ranged attack? Where does the line get drawn between the two? To what title do I give myself when asked about my combat style? I must know the answers!

This was my very first post, and I'm proud to say I no longer solely rely on the sword throw!
